Mitch Blummer is a filmmaker and cinematographer based in New York City with over 15 years of experience in narrative cinematography, documentary filmmaking, and television production.

Mitch has been telling visual stories with the camera since he was 10 years old shooting skate videos with his friends in the streets. As a teenager working at Blockbuster Video he discovered filmmaking to be an artform which can manipulate time. This led him to receive his BFA in Film Directing and Cinematography from The School of Visual Arts.

Since then, Mitch has directed and performed cinematography for national commercial, branded social and corporate promo campaigns with clients including lululemon, L’Oreal, Hoka, Audemar’s Piguet, Belvedere, and EyeBuyDirect.

His films have screened internationally and domestically at film festivals over the last fifteen years including the Torino Film Festival, Slamdance Film Festival, New York Short Film Festival, DOCNYC, New Filmmakers New York, and Lindsey Film Festival where his most recent feature, Failed State (co-directed by Christopher Jason Bell) won best Directors.

His camera work has been featured in award winning and Emmy nominated television and films across cable and streaming platforms including Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO / MAX, Vimeo, and various internet VOD services.
